This type of culture is often seen in hierarchical societies and organizations where the leader’s authority is respected and followed. In Power cultures, relationships are often based on personal connections, and individuals strive to gain the leader’s favor to gain more influence.

On the other hand, Role culture is more focused on the process and procedures rather than just individual power. In a Role culture, task accomplishment and orderliness are highly valued. The organization operates through a set of policies, rules and procedures with clear responsibility and accountability. Thus, in this culture, the individual’s success is based on their performance and how well they do their job.

Achievement culture is highly focused on individual accomplishment and success. In this type of culture, personal qualities like ambition, motivation, and performance are highly valued. People typically measure their worth based on their success and wealth. The society that holds an Achievement culture believes in the importance of competition and self-improvement both professionally and personally. Thus, individuals typically strive to be the best in their field of work or area of expertise.

Security culture is the final type that focuses on stability, security, and safety. The society’s values and beliefs revolve around the development and preservation of a stable environment. Trust and cooperation amongst individuals are critical, with a strong emphasis placed on maintaining order and stability. People in security-based cultures feel more comfortable with routines, certainty and often avoid the risks and unknown.

Power and Role cultures aim to establish stability and order, while Achievement cultures tend to foster self-promotion and competition.
