Travel is always exciting, but it can be stressful too – especially when you travel internationally. One of the biggest concerns when traveling is staying connected with family, friends, and work. And, many of us rely on our mobile devices to stay connected.

If you’re a Verizon customer, you may have heard about their Travel Pass. Essentially, when traveling abroad, you can purchase a Travel Pass to use your mobile device like you would at home. So, how much will it cost you?

First, let’s review what Verizon’s Travel Pass is. It essentially allows you to use your device (phone, tablet, or jetpack) in over 185 countries just like you would at home. This means you can make and receive calls, send texts, and use data without having to worry about expensive roaming fees.

So what’s the cost? It depends on a few different factors:

– Your current Verizon plan: If you have a premium Verizon plan, such as Above Unlimited, Travel Pass may be included at no additional charge. Otherwise, the cost is $5 per day for most countries, or $10 per day for select countries (such as Japan and South Korea).

– Your usage: If you’re a heavy data user, the costs can add up quickly. Remember, the Travel Pass includes 4G LTE data, but once you reach 512 MB per day, your speeds will be reduced to 2G speeds until the next day. If you exceed 50% of 2G speeds, Verizon may slow your speeds even further.

– Length of your trip: If you’re traveling for an extended period of time, the Travel Pass may not be the most cost-effective option. For example, a 10-day trip to Europe with the Travel Pass would cost $50 ($5 per day), but a 2-week international SIM card with data could cost you as little as $20.

Overall, Verizon’s Travel Pass is a convenient option for short-term international travel. However, it may not be the most cost-effective option for everyone. It’s important to carefully consider your usage, length of trip, and other options (such as buying a local SIM card) before making a decision.
