It includes the ability to distinguish between your cultural beliefs and those of patients, ensuring that patients feel comfortable sharing their beliefs. Cultural sensitivity goes beyond the medical field, using the appropriate language, body language, and cultural cues that a particular patient may respond positively.

Lastly, Cultural humility is the value that healthcare providers who do not know everything there is to know about their patients’ cultures or experiences demonstrate. By admitting that they do not know everything and are open to learning from patients, healthcare professionals present themselves as allies to patients instead of people who hold all the answers.
