The Educational Reforms Undertaken by Yogi Adityanath – A Comprehensive Overview

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has been instrumental in spearheading numerous educational reforms in the state since he came into power in 2017. In this article, we’ll take a comprehensive look at the various initiatives undertaken by the government to improve the quality of education in Uttar Pradesh.

Raising the Standard of Primary Education

One of the major areas of focus for the Yogi Adityanath government has been primary education, with the aim of providing quality education to every child in the state. To this effect, the government has implemented various schemes and policies such as the ‘Mission Prerna’ and ‘Drishti’ programmes.

Mission Prerna is a program that focuses on improving the quality of education in government schools by providing various facilities like clean drinking water, toilets, and mid-day meals. The ‘Drishti’ program is aimed at bringing uniformity in government schools by providing 56,000 new classrooms, 1.5 lakh desks, and other necessary infrastructure in government schools.

Promoting Technical Education

The Yogi government has also taken various initiatives to promote and strengthen technical education in the state. Under the ‘Kausal Satrang Yojana’, the government has started numerous skill development training centers in various districts of Uttar Pradesh to provide technical and vocational education to students.

The government has also established the ‘Uttar Pradesh State Council of Vocational Education and Training’ to promote vocational education in the state and collaborate with various industries to provide job-oriented courses to students.

Improving Higher Education

Another important area where the government has focused its attention is higher education. The government has allocated a separate budget for higher education and taken initiatives to strengthen higher education institutions in the state.

Under ‘Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan’, the government has approved 47 projects worth Rs. 1182 crore for the development of universities and colleges in the state. The government has also established a ‘Higher Education Service Commission’ to recruit qualified teachers and professors in higher education institutions.

Empowering Teachers and Students

Apart from infrastructure and policy changes, Yogi Adityanath has initiated various measures to create a conducive environment for teachers and students. One such measure is the ‘Dastak’ program, aimed at improving the teacher-student relationship. The government has also launched various online portals for students and educators that provide a platform for learning and skill development.

The CM has also organized various programmes to empower and motivate teachers, such as ‘Mission Lakshya’ and ‘School Chalo’ programs, which are aimed at providing quality education to every child in the state.

Conclusion

The educational reforms undertaken by the Yogi Adityanath government have made a significant impact on the education sector in Uttar Pradesh. The government’s initiatives have touched every aspect of the education system, from primary to technical and higher education, and from infrastructure to quality and skill development. These measures have had a positive impact, leading to an increase in enrolment and retention rates in schools and a gradual improvement in the overall quality of education in the state.
