Qualcomm announces record revenue in Q2 2021

In what comes as great news for the mobile phone industry, Qualcomm – the leading wireless technology company – announced record-breaking revenue in Q2 2021.

According to their latest earnings report, the company generated a total revenue of $7.9 billion – up 52 percent from last year’s Q2.

Qualcomm’s Chief Financial Officer, Akash Palkhiwala, attributed the success to their diversified business model, stating that certain business segments like IoT, Auto, and RF Front End are doing exceptionally well and have driven the growth.

The company’s flagship business, the chip business, has also experienced growth. This segment generated revenue of $6.28 billion, which is a staggering 53 percent increase from the same quarter last year.

This rise can be credited to the high demand for 5G-enabled phones, as customers continue to demand more speed and higher performance from their devices. With the launch of Apple’s 5G enabled iPhone 12 series, the need for Qualcomm’s chips has increased, and this upward trend is expected to continue.

Furthermore, the company’s non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $1.90 have exceeded expectations – showing an increase of 116 percent YoY.

Qualcomm’s success in the recent quarter is also reflected in their stock performance. The company’s shares are up 35 percent year-to-date – outperforming the S&P 500 index significantly.

Looking forward, Qualcomm predicts even better results for the coming quarters, with a revenue forecast of $8.4 billion – up by 6 percent from its previous prediction.

The company’s exceptional Q2 performance is a reflection of their long-term strategy and strong focus on innovation. It suggests that Qualcomm is on track to continue providing cutting-edge wireless technology and driving innovation in the mobile phone industry.

In conclusion, Qualcomm’s record-breaking Q2 2021 earnings are testament to their investment in innovative technology, the diversification of their business, and the increased demand for 5G-enabled phones. With a promising revenue forecast, it is safe to say that Qualcomm will remain one of the most important players in the mobile phone industry for years to come.
