As a healthcare professional, I’ve always been drawn to conferences and events that center around health and technology. One such event that’s made quite a buzz in recent years is the Health 2.0 conference. If you’re not familiar, Health 2.0 is a platform that showcases the latest trends, innovations and startups in healthcare technology. Naturally, I was intrigued- and decided to attend the conference myself last year. Here’s my take on whether or not the Health 2.0 conference is legit.

Firstly, I was impressed with the caliber of speakers and attendees at the conference. There were experts in various fields- from public health to healthcare IT- all gathered in one place to talk shop. I attended talks on topics like telemedicine, AI in healthcare and data security- all of which were both informative and engaging. Additionally, the networking opportunities were top-notch; I was able to talk to people from all over the world who were equally passionate about the intersection of health and technology.

Another area where the Health 2.0 conference excels is in fostering innovation. The conference features a startup showcase, where budding entrepreneurs can pitch their healthcare technology solutions to investors and industry insiders. I was impressed with the quality and diversity of the startups that were showcased- from tech that allows patients to track their own health data, to virtual reality solutions for chronic pain management.

Of course, no event is without its flaws. Some attendees might argue that the Health 2.0 conference can be overwhelming, with so much information packed into a few days. Additionally, the cost to attend may be prohibitive for some (although scholarships and discounts are available). There is also a sense that the conference, as well as the industry it represents, skews towards the interests of Silicon Valley and tech startups, which may or may not be a concern depending on your perspective.

Overall, my experience at the Health 2.0 conference was a positive one. From the quality of speakers and content to the opportunities for networking and innovation, the event was well worth attending. Now, as I work towards implementing healthcare technology solutions in my own practice, I can say that I feel more informed and inspired thanks to my attendance at Health 2.0.
