The perfect traditional Italian pizza is something everyone should be able to make, and it is not as hard as you might think. Here are the steps to make the perfect traditional Italian pizza:

Ingredients:

– 1 pound of pizza dough
– 1/2 cup tomato sauce
– 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
– 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 500°F. Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat up.

2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Use your fingers to press down around the edges to form a crust. Work the dough until you have the desired shape and size.

3. Brush the olive oil over the surface of the pizza crust.

4. Spoon the tomato sauce over the pizza, using a spoon or spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.

5. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce.

6. Add the optional toppings, if desired.

7. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the pizza.

8. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

9. Place the pizza on the pizza stone or baking sheet, and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.

10. Remove the pizza from the oven, and sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the top.

11. Slice, and serve immediately.
