Guacamole is an absolute must-have at any party. The creamy texture and tangy flavor make it a crowd-pleaser. But have you ever been disappointed with a bowl of guac that’s too chunky, too sour, or too spicy? Fear not! Here’s a foolproof recipe for perfect guacamole every time.

First, choose the right avocados. Look for ones that are slightly soft to the touch but not mushy. Cut them in half and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Mash the avocado with a fork until it’s mostly smooth with some chunks remaining.

Next, add your aromatics. Finely chop half a red onion, a handful of cilantro, one seeded jalapeño pepper, and a minced garlic clove. Mix the aromatics into the mashed avocado. Don’t forget the salt! Add a half teaspoon of salt, or more to taste.

Now, add acid. Squeeze in the juice of one lime. This will not only add flavor but will also help prevent the avocados from turning brown.

Last but not least, mix in diced tomatoes. This is totally optional, but it can add a nice bite to your guac.

There you have it! The perfect guacamole that isn’t too chunky, too sour, or too spicy. Serve it with tortilla chips or as a condiment for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats. Enjoy!
