The Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), for example, has introduced training and certification programs that incorporate industry-relevant skills, accelerating the growth of the telecom sector. Similarly, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with various companies to offer training programs that provide job-specific skills to students and ensure they are industry-ready.
What makes the ministry’s initiatives effective is that they are based on a detailed understanding of the skill gap problem in the country. For instance, MSDE has launched the NIMI e-learning portal for trainers and trainees. This portal provides online education and training resources to trainers, helping them improve their teaching skills and providing a platform for trainees to access relevant resources to learn and improve their skills. Such initiatives prioritizing digital literacy will be crucial in the years ahead as technology continues to drive growth across different sectors.
