For instance, chronic stress can lead to increased levels of cortisol and inflammation, which negatively impacts physical health. Similarly, being happy and content with oneself can lead to decreased levels of cortisol and inflammation, thereby improving physical health.

Social wellness relates to the ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships. Humans are social beings and are inherently designed to form connections and attachments. Each relationship is unique and essential for overall health and happiness. Some examples of healthy social relationships include companionship, intimacy, and creating meaningful connections at work or in the community.

Spiritual wellness encompasses one’s sense of purpose and connection to something greater than oneself. It is the only element in wellness that is not tangible. Spiritual wellness can be enhanced by engaging in activities that provide a sense of meaning and purpose, such as volunteering or participating in religious services.

Intellectual wellness is related to one’s ability to think critically, problem-solve, and learn. It encourages one to seek new knowledge and experiences, challenge oneself intellectually, and engage in creative and stimulating mental activities.

Environmental wellness revolves around establishing a connection with one’s surroundings and promoting sustainability. An environment that is free of pollution and harmful toxins is essential for creating a healthy space for individuals of all ages.

In conclusion, wellness is an all-encompassing term that considers every aspect of an individual’s life.
