To cope with these expenses, the study revealed that 41% of small business owners had to cut their overhead expenses while 17% downsized their staff. For instance, restaurants and cafes have moved toward takeaway services and home delivery options, as well as offering newly created meal packs for their customers. Entertainers and event organizers moved towards digital and virtual events, while fitness centers offered online classes.

Though these changes were challenging, according to the survey, 47% of small businesses expect to continue these changes even after the pandemic subsides due to the new customer behaviors and preferences discovered during the pandemic.
