Making homemade pasta is a great way to impress your friends, family or even to treat yourself to a delicious and healthy meal. Homemade pasta is a million miles away from the pasta that comes pre-packaged in a box, and you’ll never go back once you’ve tasted it. So, whether you’re new to cooking or an experienced chef, here’s your guide to making homemade pasta.
Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 3 large eggs
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon salt
Method
1. Pour the flour into a large mixing bowl, then create a well in the center of the bowl.
2. Crack the three eggs into the well, then add in the olive oil and salt.
3. Using a fork, mix the eggs together until they’ve blended with the flour mixture.
4. Using your hands, knead the mixture together. The dough will be sticky at first, but as you continue to knead it, it will become smooth and elastic.
5. Once the dough has been kneaded, wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
6. After 30 minutes, remove your dough from the refrigerator and place it on a lightly floured surface.
7. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough as thinly as possible, then cut it into your desired shape.
8. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add your homemade pasta to the pot.
9. Cook the pasta for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until it’s al dente.
10. Once your pasta is cooked to your liking, remove it from the pot and serve it with your preferred sauce.
Making homemade pasta is not as difficult as you might imagine, and with a little practice, you’ll be making pasta that rivals that of your favorite Italian restaurant. So, why not give it a try? Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a fun way to spend an afternoon in the kitchen.
