From an iHealth App Notification to a Positive COVID Test: My Personal Experience and What I Learned from It
It was just another notification from my iHealth app, reminding me to keep track of my symptoms daily and stay cautious amid the ongoing pandemic. Little did I know that this notification would eventually lead to a positive COVID test report for me.
I had been quite careful ever since the COVID-19 outbreak started. I wore a mask, maintained social distance, and avoided crowded places. But, with time, I started getting a bit complacent. I went out more than I should and became lazy with wearing a mask all the time.
It was the 28th of August when I received my iHealth app notification, informing me that I had a few COVID-19 symptoms. At first, I was reluctant to accept it as true since I was feeling just fine. But, the very next day, I started experiencing body aches, headaches, and fatigue. And, before I knew it, on the 31st of August, I tested positive for COVID-19.
Being COVID positive was a painful and stressful experience for me. I had to be isolated inside my room, away from my family, for more than two weeks. The endless medications, loss of energy, and stress made it even harder for me. But, there were a few things that I learned during this time that could be useful for everyone.
First, we should never ignore the warning signs our bodies show us. Had I paid heed to my iHealth app notification earlier, I might have been able to avoid getting infected. Also, it is essential to wear masks and maintain social distance even if you’re feeling just fine and have no apparent COVID-19 symptoms.
Second, it is necessary to stay mentally strong during stressful times and avoid panicking. Stress can take a toll on our immune system, and COVID-19 is already very hard on our body. Hence, it’s crucial to stay positive and take proper care of ourselves.
Third, it is our responsibility to spread awareness about COVID-19 and encourage others to be cautious. COVID-19 is not just about you, but it’s also about the well-being of your family, friends, and society. So, it’s essential to educate others and encourage them to follow the necessary measures.
In conclusion, getting a positive COVID-19 test was indeed a challenging experience for me. However, the lessons I learned from it are priceless. I hope my experience will motivate others to be more cautious, stay positive, and take care of themselves and the people around them. Let’s come together and fight this pandemic.
