Disney recently hosted Destination D, a fan event that showcased all things Disney, from the newest attractions to upcoming movies. This event gave fans the chance to hear from Disney executives and Imagineers about their creative process, as well as offering sneak peeks of what’s to come.
One of the highlights of Destination D was the new Star Wars hotel, Galactic Starcruiser. This immersive and interactive experience takes guests on a two-night journey, where they become a part of the Star Wars universe. Guests board the Halcyon, a starcruiser that travels through space to the planet Batuu. While onboard, they have the opportunity to engage in interactive experiences, such as lightsaber training and meeting characters from the Star Wars franchise. The Galactic Starcruiser experience will be available to guests in Spring 2022.
In addition to the new Star Wars hotel, Destination D also gave fans a glimpse into the upcoming attractions at the Disney Parks. The pre-show for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Epcot was revealed, featuring the return of fan-favorite character Rocket Raccoon. The new Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure was also showcased, with guests having the opportunity to join the fight alongside their favorite Avengers.
Disney also shared updates on their upcoming movies, such as the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, which will star Halle Bailey as Ariel. Fans were treated to a special performance by Bailey, as well as a sneak peek of concept art for the film.
