There are certain foods around the world that are considered bizarre by many people due to their unique tastes and varying appearances. While some might find these dishes delightful, others might be put off by their exotic nature.

One such dish is Balut – a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled and eaten as a street food in the Philippines. The dish is a delicacy in many parts of the country and is served with salt, vinegar or soy sauce.

Another bizarre dish is Hakarl – a fermented shark meat that is a specialty of Iceland. The dish is made by burying the shark meat in the sand and leaving it to ferment for months, before being cut into small pieces and served in small cubes.

One of the most famous bizarre dishes is Fugu – a pufferfish that is considered a delicacy in Japan. The fish contains a toxin that is 1200 times more potent than cyanide, and if not prepared correctly, can lead to paralysis or even death.

In Korea, Beondegi – a silkworm pupae – is a common street food that is boiled and served with seasoning. The chewy texture and nutty flavor of the pupae might not appeal to everyone, but it is a popular snack in the country.

In China, Century Eggs or Pidan is another bizarre dish that is made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, and quicklime for several weeks. The eggs turn black and develop a jelly-like texture, with a pungent flavor and smell.

These are just a few examples of the bizarre foods that are consumed around the world. While some may seem strange and unappetizing, others may be a delectable treat for the taste buds of the adventurous eater.
