1. Kabaddi (India)
Kabaddi is a popular sport in India, with deep cultural and historical roots. It involves two teams with seven players each, trying to tag and tackle each other while chanting “Kabaddi, Kabaddi” to prove they are not taking a breath. The sport has gained international recognition in recent years, with the Pro Kabaddi League attracting large audiences.

2. Hurling (Ireland)
Hurling is a fast-paced Gaelic sport played in Ireland. It involves using a hurley stick to hit a small ball, called a sliotar, into the opposing team’s goalpost. Hurling is regarded as one of the oldest sports in the world, and is deeply connected to Irish mythology and culture.

3. Sepak Takraw (Southeast Asia)
Sepak Takraw originated in Southeast Asia, and is similar to volleyball, but the ball is made of rattan and players cannot use their arms or hands. The sport is played in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, and has gained popularity worldwide in recent years.

4. Sumo Wrestling (Japan)
Sumo wrestling is Japan’s national sport and is similar to heavyweight wrestling. It involves two wrestlers trying to push each other out of a circular ring, or dohyō. Sumo wrestling is deeply rooted in Japanese mythology and is considered a sacred sport in the country.

5. Mancala (Africa, Middle East and Asia)
Mancala is a traditional board game played in many parts of Africa, the Middle East and Asia. It is a two-player game, played on a board with pits and stones, and involves strategic planning and counting skills. Mancala has many variations in different cultures, with different names and rules.

They not only promote physical activity, but also provide a window into the history, traditions and values of the societies.
