The 2021 F1 Awards Ceremony saw many winners, with intense competition and thrilling performances making it a highly anticipated event around the world. The ceremony celebrated various categories, all significant to the F1 racing world, and included a few surprises along the way.

The winners and losers at the awards ceremony indicated several trends that are sure to shape the future of the sport. So, let’s take a closer look at some of the key highlights of the event.

Max Verstappen, the 24-year-old Dutchman, was declared F1 World Champion for the first time. It was an incredible season for Verstappen, who won nine races and conquered Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion from his competitor’s team, Mercedes.

The race for the Best Rookie of the Year was a close one, with Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary F1 driver Michael Schumacher, winning the prize. Schumacher drove for Haas F1 in his debut year, and despite limited success on track, his consistency and determination earned him the coveted Rookie of the Year title.

In the Best Team category, Mercedes kept up their dominance by winning yet another award. Although not champions this year, their impressive performance and star driver Lewis Hamilton’s significant contribution to the racetrack made them a clear choice for the top award.

In the Best Engine category, Honda’s performance was top-notch, with their engines powering six out of the top ten drivers; they took home the prize for the fourth consecutive year.

Finally, the Pitstop of the Year award went to McLaren, highest due to their remarkable pitstop time of just 1.825 seconds during the Monaco Grand Prix, making them clear front-runners for this category.

However, while the event had its fair share of winners, it also had its fair share of losers. Perhaps the most notable among the losers was Valtteri Bottas, the Finnish F1 driver who struggled throughout this season. Despite being a part of the championship-winning Mercedes team, Bottas was at times outpaced by even his teammate, Hamilton, and finished the year without a single win.

In conclusion, the 2021 F1 Awards Ceremony was a celebration of excellence, as well as a testament to the fierce competition that drives the sport. It provided a glimpse into the future of Formula One, with rising stars like Max Verstappen and Mick Schumacher destined to take the sport to new heights. Overall, the event was one that every F1 enthusiast should remember fondly.
